HACC Chigwell Support Program

The Support Program is Funded by HACC and supported by volunteer helpers. The aim of the program is to improve the quality of life and enable the Frail, Aged, Disabled, Young Disabled and their Carers to live where they want to be, At Home. The service provides a Shopping service, Transport for doctors and medical appointments, a Gardening service. In addition to this they offer day trips once a fortnight and a day center once a week.


Tuesday day trips take clients off to places such as Port Arthur, New Norfolk, Dover, Ross and many other areas. The social club provides outings for special occasions such as Easter, Mothers day, Christmas in Winter and of course Christmas. On Fridays a lunch is provided for up to 28 people, a full main meal followed by desserts. Social activities round out the afternoon providing an afternoon of enjoyment for everyone.


HACC office hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.



Chigwell Support Program Manager

Ellen is the Program Manager for the Chigwell Support Program. Ellen is Married with 2 children. Ellen has been the Program Manager for 3 yrs now and has a diplomna in Community Services and Volunteering.


Key Responsibilities:

Ellen is responsible for the day to day running of the support program. Her duties include preparing grant submissions,budgeting, assessing clients and finding suitable volunteers to assist with driving clients to and from appointments etc. Volunteers also assist on Fridays with the HACC Luncheon. The support Program Manager also gets the advice from the advisory board who are made up of clients and volunteers.


Department:

The Chigwell Support Program is federally funded through HACC (Home And Community Care) and supported by Community Transport. Records have to be kept of numbers of clients accessing the program and handed in to HACC on a regular basis.
